Child and Family Therapy

Each family finds an innate way of forming and staying together. The ways that family members care for each other are passed down from one generation to the next. This includes how family members communicate, disagree, nurture, and teach each other.

While families carry strength and resiliency, they also carry hurt; every family carries with it the pain from unresolved injuries of past generations. Through a process of multi-generational healing, we will focus together on helping family members better understand how the family formed in the way it did, and help to build a new way of being together that recognizes the strengths while also letting go of some of the pains from the past.

When children are facing challenges with worry, sadness, academic struggles, friendships, and other troubles, I work with the whole family to help identify ways to support the kids. Often this work involves as much work with the parents as it does the children, and therapy will be a blend of me meeting separately with the children, the parents, and the whole family.

I also work with adult families including parent-child relationships and sibling relationships. I will help you look for ways to better understand and accept each other while addressing unsatisfying
